Top tips for ensuring your pet's well-being
Summer is a wonderful time to enjoy the sun and outdoors, but it can also be a dangerous season for our furry friends. High temperatures can cause heatstroke in dogs and cats, a condition that can be very serious if not taken seriously. But don't worry! At Amykus, we're here to help you keep your pet cool and safe. Here are some practical tips:
1. Hydration: Water is Vital
Make sure your pet has constant access to fresh, clean water. During hot days, dogs and cats can dehydrate quickly. If you go for a walk, bring a water bottle and a portable bowl. Hydration is key to keeping the heat at bay!
2. Seek Shade: The Sun is Not Always a Friend
Avoid exposing your pet to direct sun for long periods. If you have a yard, make sure there are shaded areas where they can take refuge. During walks, look for shady paths and avoid surfaces that get very hot, such as asphalt.
3. Be Careful with Exercise During Peak Heat Hours
We know our furry friends love to play and run, but intense physical activity during the hottest hours of the day can be dangerous. Avoid strenuous activities between 11 a.m. and 5 p.m. Opt for walks early in the morning or at dusk, when temperatures are cooler and safer.

4. Use Fans and Air Conditioners: Artificial Coolness
If the heat at home is too much, turn on the fan or air conditioner to maintain a cool environment. You can also use evaporative coolers that help reduce the temperature without being as aggressive as air conditioning.
5. Never Leave Your Pet Alone in the Car: Never Ever
A car can turn into an oven in a matter of minutes, even with the windows slightly open. Leaving your pet alone in the car can be extremely dangerous and can quickly lead to heatstroke. If you need to run an errand, it's better to leave your pet at home, safe and cool.
6. A Good Dip: A Refreshing Bath
A little water never hurts. You can cool your pet by gently wetting them with some water, using a damp towel, or even letting them play in a small pool. Dogs, in particular, really enjoy this type of refreshment, and it can also be beneficial for cats, though at their own pace and preference.

At Amykus, we care about your pets' well-being. Follow these tips and enjoy a fun and safe summer with your furry friend. Remember that their health and happiness come first!
